Trip to Quiet Waters Park

We decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather and visit one of our local parks. Today we visited  Quiet Waters Park, in Annapolis, Maryland. This park is beautiful with miles of biking/ jogging trails, lots of open fields, a few small playgrounds, one large playground, as well as boat rentals in the summer and a museum.

There is a fee to enter the park in a car, but admission is free for military and dependents.

Here are a few pictures of our afternoon.

Isn’t it funny how you can take a kid to a park and all they want to do is run up and down the stairs?

A small pond with ducks and turtles, I wonder if you are allowed to feed them?

To find more great place spaces visit 5 Minutes for Mom and read about what Kaboom is doing to locate 100,000 play spaces in 100 days. We are fortunate to live on a military base with many playgrounds, but not everyone has that luxury.  Kaboom wants to ensure there is a play space within walking distance of every child.

Looks like a beautiful day for the park! I wish our park was closer. Would be so much easier to walk to it. Enjoy the warmer days!

What a beautiful park! :D I’m looking forward to warmer days to make our way out of base to other parks. :D

  5. Wow that is a beautiful place. I’d visit it, if I was there. We love parks and go to as many as we can.

Last summer our family made a goal to visit 100 playgrounds before cold weather hit. We only made it to 68, but we had so much fun that we are going to try again this year. We just visited #5 yesterday.

How beautiful! Even better, it looks like you had the entire park to yourselves. :)

That park is gorgeous! Looks like y’all had a lot of fun!

  10. Talk about simple pleasures…my son’s favorite part of Sea World (thank goodness our tickets were CHEAP) was “chasing the pigeons away at the lunch place.” I should have taken him downtown…30 minutes away vs. 6 hours!

My aunt lives in Maryland and is active in the Friends of Blackwater, which is the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge, in Cambridge, Maryland. Your kids might really enjoy that, too.
