God Bless You All!!! Thank you for a beautiful and heartfelt post. Congrats on the promotion. You (both) earned it. I appreciate the post and it's true meaning of this holiday. Too many people take this humbling holiday as a party weekend....forgetting the real reason for it. But, we retired military families know for sure what it is about. My husband is a proudly retired (altho wanted to stay on...) US Navy Parachute Rigger, from 20 years. Although, he never went to Iraq, and was too old and disabled for that, he wanted to go and really tried..sigh...Thanks to God, he is alive and well now. Praise to God for all of your family and many many others for their sacrifies for our wonderful country, and for thanks for keeping us free and able to sleep safely at night. Thank you to all our Armed Forced people near and far, and to our families who have paid the ultimate price for us. God bless you all and THANK YOU forever more!

I admire our soldiers and their willingness to risk their lives for our country, and just as strong are the wives and children they must leave behind while they fight. So glad your husband has been kept safe, healed and promoted! May God continue to bless your family!

Beautiful post. Congratulations to your hubby on many things - on the promotion, on healing (yeah!), on serving our country for so long and for continuing to do so! For you, Toni, congratulations for being the amazing wife and mother you are and for holding down the fort while he helped our brothers in arms fight this war, for helping him heal, for inspiring others, and for being you.

Congratulations doesn't actually seem to be enough, actually. So, if there were a better word for it, filled with pride and admiration, consider it said to you, your husband, and to all who serve our country and who serve those fighting for our country - the wives.
