I hope to post the birth story soon, but until then I have some more pictures to share. I was so happy today when I went to the NICU and Cora was off the CPAP machine. Later that afternoon my husband and mom went to the NICU and she was off even more stuff. Sorry for the non technical terms. I left all the “medical” stuff up to my husband since I was feeling so terrible. I ended up losing a lot of blood yesterday and wasn’t really able to do anything until this afternoon.
Thankfully after all sorts of medicine and shots and whatever else they gave me I am feeling much better and was actually able to get a shower tonight. I also slept for a few hours this afternoon and it feels like I slept for 2 days.
I’ll try to update more soon, the bottom line is Cora is doing very well. They have ruled out almost every potential problem and basically think she was just a preemie and her lungs weren’t quite ready to work when she was born. We are so thankful for all the prayers of everyone who knows us in real life and all my blogging friends.

She’s beautiful! So glad to hear that you’re both doing better!
Cora is looking great, and it sounds like you are doing better as well. Isn’t it amazing how much difference a few hours of sleep can make?!? Just wanted to let you know that I am keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers — my daughter was born at 31 weeks and spent time in the NICU, middle guy was a 38 week-er, but had meconium in the sac, and my littlest guy’s lungs weren’t ready at a 36-week amnio and so it was scary a few days a later when I went into labor. Everything worked out for my family and I pray that the same will happen with yours. Hugs to you all!
Soooo sweet…can almost smell that new baby smell. (Mine smells like cherrios mostly now)
Congratulations…she is absolutely precious and beautiful!

I hope she gets to come home really soon. Having a baby in the NICU is very trying regardless of any circumstances. My twins were there for 4 weeks. I’m sending good thoughts and well wishes your way.
she is gorgeous!! wanted you to know that my given name at birth ( i changed it when i got adopted at age 10) was Cora!! congratulations, glad to hear you are feeling and doing much better!! God Bless!!
Aww! She’s adorable! Glad she is doing better!
Cora is beautiful! I’m so happy she is doing better! I’m so thankful you are improving too, and able to get up and around today!
With our 32-weeker, I found myself constantly praising God that we live in a country (and in an age) when NICU care is readily available. In almost any other time in history–and in many countries around the world even today, my little guy wouldn’t have survived, but thanks to the medical care available in the NICU, 32-weekers have a 95% survival rate! Wow. God’s goodness never ceases to amaze me!
I’m continuing to pray for you all, and checking for updates! Thanks for posting these pictures!
She is a beautiful baby! I am so thankful for the NICU where my girls were born. The looks like she is doing wonderful and I’m sure she’ll be home soon. I hope you’re able to get some much needed rest. You will continue to be in my prayers.

Toni, congratulations on a difficult job well done. Wasn’t easy staying in bed, but it was worth it! Tell your Mom she looks “adequately” happy in that picture.

Our seventh child, a beautiful little girl, had breathing issues, too. She wasn’t a preemie, but a blue baby is never good. She spent a few days in the special care nursery (hopital didn’t have a NICU) where they ruled out any problems and she has been great since then. She is now a happy, healthy, and sleeping-through-the-night 6 month old. I pray your number seven will be as precious and healthy as ours.
