I Need Your Help

Next month we will be taking a family vacation. While I will have access to the internet, I do want the majority of my time to be spent doing vacation-y things. I also do not want to neglect the blog while I am gone. So, I thought I would ask for some help.

First, would anyone be interested in guest posting here at The Happy Housewife next month. The requirements are pretty basic, I am looking for posts about frugal living, kids, homeschooling, craft tutorials, cooking, healthy eating, recycling, or military life. The only other requirement would that it would need to be original, not something you have already written and published somewhere else. You do not need to have a blog to write an article you just need to be a good speller (or know how to use spell check like me!). If you would like to guest post just click on the “email me” button at the top of my sidebar and send me an email with your post idea.

Second, I thought it would be fun to do a little Q&A with my readers. I know that many of you leave questions in the comments section or email me and I try to respond, but I don’t always remember or the email gets lost in my inbox. So, if you have a question for me, leave it in the comments section of this post. I plan to write up some posts before I leave answering your questions. Feel free to ask any question on any topic from personal to practical and I will try to answer it. The only two items off limits are my weight and real hair color icon wink I Need Your Help .

Hi Toni, Congrats on your baby girl, so exciting. We are having a girl too – due date Dec 28th.

I have a practical question I’ve been meaning to ask…Do you know the cheapest way to mail packages? USPS, UPS, DHL, FedEx?

Hi! Love the question idea! First, what type of breadmaker do you use? I have a kitchen aid that takes care of the kneading but then I still have to let the dough rise, shape the loaves, let them rise again and then bake them. I might be interested in trying a bread machine. Also, how do you continue to homeschool while in your third trimester and when your newborn arrives? My children are 9, 8, 6, & 4 and I am currently pregnant with my 5th. It will be really the first time that I am in the thick of homeschooling. My oldest was only in kindergarten when my youngest was born so it wasn’t that difficult to get it all done. Any suggestions would be great.

  3. I can help you out. I’ve got a lot to say. Check out my blog to see if you like my style. How often do you post?

My question is regarding organic foods- do you buy them and if so, how do you do it frugally?

    I love reading your blog!

Dern it…..and all I wanted to know was what color your hair was and how much you weighed….just kidding!

I would love to help you out and do a guest post, but my kids are teens now, although I could post about the day I went on strike as a mom, lol! (I really DID do that….by the way!)

You are welcome to visit my site and look at some of the labels (like children or frugal or whatever) if you want an idea of what I talk about. I do have to say that I never talk about cooking (….sigh!). I don’t think I’ve posted about homeschooling, although I do it.

You aren’t going to hurt my feelings if my writing isn’t your style. I must admit I do alot of humorous type stuff just because I do tend to be a rather upbeat kind of person.

    Toni,
I have read you for a couple of months now but rarely comment. I do know you have been to my blog at least one time…I have had a post bouncing in my head regarding military life: What types of things does your spouse do (or do you wish he’d do) to help while he’s away?

I wrote very briefly on this here:
    http://amilitaryfamilyblog.blogspot.com/2008/11/i-would-really-appreciate-your-valued.html
But quite frankly I simply don’t have the readership to make it an interesting discussion.

If you are interested of course I could actually write out a post on this topic with thoughts based on my experiences (14 years of military marriage) and observations from over the years. I also am currently reading Jacey Eckhart’s, “The Homefront Club” and may include thoughts on her book as well. Obviously I would make great effort to keep it short and succinct;)

So happy for you to have your vacation with your family and a break from your impressive routine. “A change is as good as a rest”, as they say. And thank you for your blogging!

    Hi Toni,
It’s been a while since I commented…I really enjoyed your post on the children’s gift money and was wondering if you could share your view on age appropriate household jobs for preschoolers and up. Sometimes I need a fresh view. :) If you’ve already done a post on that, could you point me in the right direction? Thanks!

First off, I LOVE your new page layout!! Very cool :)

I would love to guest post, if I could think of something. hahaha And what, you don’t even know your real hair color anymore right? Or is that me? :-p hehe

  9. Lawanda says:

Hey I have a question. How’d you talk your dh into having so many kids? Mine won’t budge! LOL

I just recently found your blog and am becoming quite the fan… if you are still looking for guest bloggers, I would be happy to help out!
