Disney’s Armed Forces Salute ~ Free Admission!

Disney ran this offer a few years ago. We were able to take advantage of it and unbelievably this offer comes the day before we are scheduled to leave for our Disney World vacation. I am so glad I waited to purchase tickets!

I just spoke with a representative Disney World and confirmed this information with guest services.

Free 5- Day Park Hopper Ticket for active duty service member. $99 5-Day base ticket for up to 5 guests.

Anyone on active duty- Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard
Retired military personnel
Federal/State National Guard and Reserves (with active papers dated 1/1/08-12/23/09)
Dept of Defense (CIA, FBI, Secret Service) and Coalition Forces are excluded

The military service member will receive one Complimentary 5-Day “Disney’s Armed Forces Salute“ Ticket with Park Hopper and Water Park Fun & More – this ticket is not upgradeable.
Up to 5 of their guests can purchase for $99 a “Disney’s Armed Forces Salute Companion” (5 Day Base) ticket and can add on the Park Hopper or Water Park Fun & More option for $25 each (which is 50% off the normal price); however, these tickets may also be upgraded to Premium, Annual and Seasonal Passes. Seasonal Pass upgrade requires proof of Florida Residency. No other upgrades, such as adding on additional days or the NE option, are available.

This promotion will begin on 1/4/09 and end on 12/23/09. Tickets will expire on 12/23/09 and have no block-out dates
Tickets may be upgraded anytime between January 4th -December 23, 2009 as long as there is usage left on the ticket.

You may purchase tickets

  • At any Vacation Planner or Guest Relations Window
  • They can purchase an exchange voucher at Shades of Green (ticket is tax free)
  • They can also purchase an exchange voucher at their Base (ticket is tax free)

The entire party needs to be present for purchase (Spouse or military dependents can receive the companion discount without the military service member being present as long as they have their military ID).
The military service member will need to show ID; Cast Member will ask for their Base’s name, and the State where the base is listed.

This offer is only available once per service member.

This is a great deal for military members, especially if you live near Disney and don’t have to travel! Please pass this information on to any military family you know, active duty or retired. I hope many families are able to take advantage of this offer.

This is so cool! I don’t know anybody planning a trip but I will mention it to my friend’s whose husband is a marine.

I hope you have a wonderful trip, my friend. We love Disneyworld and have managed to save up for a few trips. We are currently saving for another trip in about three years.

Are you staying on site? I have to admit that we stay off-site in order to save more money. We also get a room with a fridge so that we can buy food and put it in there.

Do you have a Disney credit card? We have one and just use it for certain purchases (we pay it off every month) because you get free Disney dollars when you use their card.

So, on our last trip we had about $400-$500 in free money to spend. We used it in the Disney parks to buy food or souveniers, etc. Since we paid off the credit each month we weren’t in debt either and the free money helped finance our trip, so to speak.

Thanks for the info! I had been thinking of taking a trip for spring and this just might be the one. :D

  4. Todd says:

What a deal! Looking forward to your visit, Sis.

  5. Lindsay says:

Thanks! I think this just may have sealed the deal on our post deployment trip this summer!!!!

  6. WOOHOO!!!! Way to go Disney!!! :)

  7. Kelley says:

Wonderful…now I just need to get to the States…but this just maybe a great excuse!!

  8. Nancy says:

I am sooooooo happy to read this. We took advantage of this offer the first year they did it. Then it went away….and we went on our own a few years ago, way expensive. My kids have been wanting to go back since my youngest really doesn’t remember much. Look out Disney, here we come!

  9. Nancy says:

That is such an awesome blessing! I hope y’all enjoy your Disney trip. If you’re driving, can you pick me up on your way down?

  10. Rick says:

I don’t think this includes retired personnel. http://commerce.4adventure.com/store/os_application.asp

  11. Grace Thompson says:

We are planning to visit Disneyland in May ’09. Do you know if this offer is valid in Anaheim’s Disney Park as well?

  12. mrsmel says:

I hate to burst anyone’s bubble but I just read on the site that this expires JUNE 2009 not December 2009… which sucks for people like me who’s husbands will be deployed the entire time that the offer is good for.

    • TheHappyHousewife says:

This offer expires December 23rd 2009. I was at the Magic Kingdom yesterday and confirmed again at the gate. You can also go without the service member present.

Can someone please explain this statement?? It makes no sense to me. The two statements contradict each other to me.
“First day of use of “Disney’s Armed Forces Salute” complimentary tickets and “Disney’s Armed Forces Salute Companion” tickets at the Disneyland Resort must be no later than June 12, 2009, and tickets expire 13 days after the first day of use or June 25, 2009, whichever occurs first. Last day of use on “Disney’s Armed Forces Salute” complimentary tickets and “Disney’s Armed Forces Salute Companion” tickets at the Walt Disney World Resort is Dec. 23, 2009.”

    • TheHappyHousewife says:

It appears that for Disneyland park in California the tickets expire 13 days after the first use and must be purchased before June 12, 2009. For Walt Disney World (FL) the tickets are valid until Dec. 23rd. I have a ticket in my hand with an expiration date of Dec. 23rd, so I am positive this is the case for Disney World (located in FL).
You can read about it here.

  14. John says:

What is the best number to call on this to get an official answer to the following question: I am retired Army Reserves-do I qualify as a retiree?

  15. Nadine says:

I am still unclear about the tickets. Do I have to use all 5 days in one period or can I go one day in April, one day in May, etc…?
I hope someone can clear this up for me.
    Thanks :)

  16. Angela Wells says:

Sound FUN My husband just came back from deployment and it will be great for our daughters birthday !!

  17. Robin Anderson says:

And for a wonderful place to stay while you’re enjoying your free/almost free Disney World vacation, check out afvclub.com. They offer a number of beautiful condos in Kissimmee, minutes from Disney World, for $329 a week! We stayed in one the last time Disney did this promotion, and it was fabulous.
