Today, for the first time, my local Costco's bulk Barilla pasta beat the commissary price for the same product. I paid 94 cents a pound for Barilla penne (slightly more, 99 cents, for whole grain pasta). The commissary price is higher right now.

Needless to say, I am now the proud owner of 12 boxes of Barilla pasta (we had pasta for dinner, so I cooked some). We can take some to church on Sunday to give away.

I am a big believer in memorizing the unit prices (per pound, per ounce) for things I buy regularly. Then, if I stumble upon a deal, I know right away and don't have to check prices and waste gas coming back to buy the cheaper item.

Great timing on this post. I went to the post office today and what awaited me? A lovely box FULL of coupons. I will pass distribute them on to people over here in Germany. We really do appreciate them and keep them coming!
