Baby Cora Update

We just got off the phone with the NICU and Cora is doing much better. I am getting ready to go over there now, so hopefully I will have more information soon.

Here is a picture from right before they took her to the NICU yesterday.

Last night we got to hold her in the NICU, it was great!

I am still not allowed out of bed without help and on an IV. I am hoping to get off it very soon so I can get a shower and move around better.

Yesterday was rough, but today is looking much better.Thank you for all your comments and prayers.

What a sweetie! Our son was born 2 years ago and he had to be taken to the NICU with lung problems as well. That last picture made me think of him. He looked just like that. 58. Katy says:

What a beautiful girl you have! The picture of Cora on CPAP took me back. My daughter looked at the picture and asked if it was her as a baby, lol. I hope your NICU ride is short and uncomplicated. It’s a terribly scary thing to see your brand new baby there no matter how well they are doing. ((((hugs!)))) Take care of yourself. Running back and forth to the hospital was exhausting for me and she was my only child!

Sending prayers that you can get that IV out ASAP and that Cora continues doing well!

    ~Liz

  64. Heather says:

I was in the hospital a total of 21 days and made sure the first AM visit to be very clear I REALLY wanted shower. They unhooked my iv stuff and just taped a big plastic sheet over my iv site so I could get a shower—sometimes it was midnight by the time it could happen but whatever it makes an enormous difference in your emotional attitude. Especially if you have to be traveling to the NICU and back in elevators with regular folks coming in off the street in real clothes and make-up.

  65. You’re gorgeous, Toni! Not to mention how beautiful baby Cora is. I know it has to be hard to see her hooked up… I’m praying for you all… so you can leave with her as soon as possible.

  66. Congrats to you and your family! Be well!

  67. missy says:

She is so beautiful!!! God is so good! What a wonderful litle blessing he has given you! I will be praying for you both!

  68. jolyn says:

Oh my goodness, that looks like a smile on Cora’s face! So glad she is doing well; I so hope the hemoglobin thing (or whatever it is) works itself out. One of my sisters had to have blood transfusions after one of her babies. Something about vitamin K helped her avoid it with the next one? Thank God for our doctors, really. When we really need help, we have it. I hope you are feeling better.
