I can’t say it enough…

I L – O – V – E Aldi!!!

When we lived in Ohio, we would get all our baking goods, snacks, cereal (knock offs of the $3-5/box stuff), pasta, etc. from them. We weren’t really impresssed with the canned veggies (tomato products are fine, its the rest we didn’t care for), but on the whole, I don’t think there was ever anything REALLY bad. We did get some meat (mainly whiting fillets and some chicken) from there, but there was a German butcher near us where we bought most of our meat.

I sure missed Aldi when we moved to Lousyanna. Now that we’re in Germany (where Aldi originated!) Aldi is not such a big deal. Most other stores have better products for less – Go Figure!

I LOVE ALDIs too. When my family moved to Denver I was devasted that there weren’t any in the STATE.

My parents shopped both at the commissary & Aldis. It depended on what they needed. As well, they were retired military & the closest base was 60+ miles away in another state. So the decision to drive to Scott AFB was a serious one. I mostly remember them buying meat & such from the commissary and everyday other items from Aldis.

Now I will admit there were some products I didn’t liek at Aldis (mostly dairy b/c I am very particular & spoiled with grandparents who had a dairy farm). Overall though I would shop at Aldis if there was one in Denver. Love it!

I always buy our fresh fruits and veggies at Aldi’s. The commissary is always soooo expensive on their produce. I also buy eggs, yogurt (single serving size), chocolate chips, brown sugar, and cream of (whatever) soups at Aldi’s.

We aren’t military, so I don’t know commissary prices, but I can say that the nice thing about Aldi prices is they are consistent. I have found some of the things for cheaper elsewhere…when they are on sale. So maybe I can get canned food at Kroger/Dillons for only 41 cents/can and its usually 45 cents at Aldi. I may go to Kroger because its closer, but for consistent low prices Aldi is the way to go.

I LOVE Aldi! Of course I don’t shop at a Military place, but for me Aldi is the cheapest place to shop.

I love all their food too. In fact, we like their canned green beans better than any other green beans we have ever tried

I mostly shop at Aldi and Walmart. They are right near each other, and Walmart will match prices in ads for me, on stuff I can’t get at Aldi Plus walmart takes coupons! But Aldi is still my fave

I don’t have an Aldi nearby but boy do I wish we did. I have found many things to be a lot cheaper at Walmart than the Commissary here. That is a shame because the commissary is supposed to sell things at cost. So why am I going to walmart and getting so many things cheaper? Unless they are taking less than cost to attract shoppers not sure on that one. Anyway, I wish we had an Aldi out west. AWESOME store!

I’ve done a price comparison on quite a few things and there are some things that are cheaper and some not. and then it depends per week sometimes, too. Aldis is usually cheaper on canned veggies, butter, cream cheese, chips, pretzels, crystal lite mix, snack crackers, spices, chocolate chips, sugar, brown sugar, powdered sugar, all purpose flour, big 32 oz plain yogurt, condiments, sometimes fruit and veggies depending on week, and probably several others that I haven’t caught yet. For me it is worth the trip but it is only 15-20 minutes away.
