I was wondering if you’ve purchased rosetta stone yet. Can multiple users use 1 copy or does it individualize (because it’s software) to the user? I’m really enjoying your site as a newlywed loving your recipes and as a former Montessori teacher I enjoyed browsing your homeschool curriculum ideas too!

I found your blog through WFMW and just browsed through to your curriculum. We are using so much of the same thing!
TLP, Handwriting Without Tears, Apologia, Explode The Code, and I am considering Rod & Staff for grammar.
What do the credits mean beside the 9th graders list?
We loved TLP last year! It is my girls favorite subject

Hey Toni,
Looks good!!!
I wanted to share a site that you might find interesting for your Bible dilemma if you haven’t already figured something out!
http://www.bibleclassbooks.com/index.html –FREE bible curriculum of OT & NT Bible Stories & People, along with character values. Just a note…the files are on the large size.
I did this last year with my oldest ds(12yo) and he enjoyed it. We still have several of the books to go so we are again going to be doing them this year. The other thing I did was found/made a list of verses for him to memorize and that was our Bible curriculum for the year.
HTH!

Hi,
I love your blog.
Would you mind if I added it to our new homeschool blog list?
Do you know of any other homeschool bloggers or great websites?
Thanks!

MathUSee.com has a fantastic program for teaching personal finance called “Stewardship”. We have used their math program exclusively for our sons and are very pleased. If you still haven’t found a curriculum for that subject for your 9th grader it’s worth a look.
God bless your family – keep up the wonderful work!

I’ve just discovered your blog today and am thrilled to find kindred spirits! We are homeschoolers and Disney lovers too. Your curriculum choices are great—we use or have used many of the same ones(Explode the Code is awesome, but my daughter hated the reader. So she just chose her own books. She’s 15 now and reads voraciously!) My son just graduated. LOVE your blog!

Hi Toni! I stumbled onto your blog a while ago & enjoy posts immensely! I am a military spouse as well, and because of DODDS kindergarten requirements, have begun to homeschool my 4 yo (she turns 5 in December)! I previously had purchased Explode the Code & also had attended a Handwriting Without Tears workshop a few years back while I was a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, so it was a delight to have those materials on hand already! I did just purchase & have started Portia on My Father’s World, but am not sure I really like it. They start on the letter S & Portia had a terrible time with it. I’ve decided to kind of do it out of order, in the order that HWT does the letters. Have you done this or do you just go through them in order? I’m so new at this, just wanted your opinion! Thanks!

The website looks excellent. Lots of information here. My friend who teaches high school math just finshed a manual called “Financial Mathematics” and it is intended to teach high school students about the different types of interest and how math applies in everyday life. His website is http://www.financialmathteacher.com. It is an excellent addition to a homeschool curriculum.

How or where do you get transcripts for your kids for college?

Must say, it’s refreshing to see your page!
I grew up in a Christian home as a homeschooler, and I love that you are able to do this. Now, a grown-up, I love sites like these for money-saving ideas so that I can help my husband and I hold on to a little more of his hard-earned paychecks!
I love your posts so far!

Just wondering if you’ve read The Well Trained Mind? From your list of books, it would appear so. If not, it’s a great book! A complete homeschool outline for k-12. I’m using it to teach my 4yr old reading, and will begin K in Sept. Check it out if you haven’t!
