Monday Meanderings

I am very excited about this week. On Thursday, we will be going to the HEAV convention in Richmond. I love going to conventions, wandering the exhibit hall, going to workshops, seeing old friends. It will be such fun!

Since we are moving in 7 days my goals for this week are simple.

  • Keep cleaning and organizing our stuff.
  • Plan my time at the convention.
  • Create a moving plan.
  • Make freezer meals for the family to eat while I am gone. (View my menu plan here)
  • Buy the rest of the paint for the new house.

I thought about doing school with the kids for the three days that I will be here, but then I realized that would be ridiculous. There is nothing the kids will learn this week that can’t wait until the middle of June when things have settled down around here.

My older two children return from their extended vacation on Tuesday. We have missed them so much, and will be happy to have them home. My eight year old has really taken a leadership role with the younger kids in the absence of his big brother and sister. I hope that continues when they return. I think my eight year old acts to the level we expect of him, this week he rose to the challenge and it was awesome.

Next week at this time I will be moving into my new house. It will be hard work, but fun!

    Good plan to skip the school stuff for now. Yes, it will wait! :-) Actually, you will still be doing “school” but it will just be more like “life skills” studies, rather than book studies.

    Wow! Sounds like a very busy week! I know moving can be so exciting and also so stressful! When I was moving last year I asked Laura at I’m an Organizing Junkie for some advice on organizing my move, and she posted some helpful tips.
