Menu Plan Week of April 19th

April 19, 2009 · 5 comments

My first week alone with seven kids… will we survive, will the children be fed, will we run out of clean underwear?

Breakfast

I am assigning breakfast duty to my two oldest children. Cereal, Bagels, Waffles, Oatmeal, Eggs

Lunch

Sandwiches, Crackers, Fruit, Smoothies

Dinner

Thankfully my mom put several meals in the freezer before she left, so most of our menu is from the freezer this week.

SundayJambalaya, fresh fruit, green beans, whole wheat French bread rolls (This meal was brought to us by a family from our church… yum!)

Monday – Chicken pot pie with biscuit crust, salad

Tuesday – Salisbury steak with egg noodles, peas, corn

Wednesday – Lasagna, salad, whole wheat French bread rolls

Thursday – Steak, potatoes, corn, peas, bread

Friday – Pizza with whole wheat crust

I just wanted to say I read your website as a guide to live by. I have five kids and it’s really hard to keep sane at times. I couldn’t imagine two more. This post in particular was helpful. I’m always looking for new things to make for dinner. I try to plan things out in a week advance so I don’t have to worry about what’s for dinner at the last minute. The key to having a large family is to stay organized. Thanks for all your posts and advise!!

Toni, I always read your posts through my feed reader, but I popped over to the site today. I hadn’t seen the updated header till now. I must say–you have recovered nicely! :P
