Menu Plan Week of February 9th ~ Plus a Hot Breakfast Giveaway!

February 9, 2009 · 77 comments

The Hot Breakfast Challenge continues at the Happy House. Last week we enjoyed pancakes, French toast, eggs, oatmeal, and cinnamon rolls. A hot breakfast does not have to be fancy, eggs with a slice of whole wheat toast and some fresh fruit is a delicious and healthy alternative to preservative laden pre-packaged breakfast products.

Last week I purchased Heavenly Homemakers Breakfast Cookbook to find more recipes for this challenge. This week Laura from Heavenly Homemakers has offered to give one away to you! This cookbook is filled with great recipes, pictures and ideas for a healthy breakfast.
Scroll down to the end of the post to find out how to enter and win Think Breakfast… Outside of the Box.

Menu Plan Week of February 9

Breakfast

Biscuits and Fruit, Whole Wheat Pancakes, and French Toast. I am going to try Laura’s Honey Oat Crunch Cereal recipe (which is technically not a hot breakfast, but it is healthy), and

Lunch
Sandwiches, Cheese and Crackers, Smoothies, Mac and Cheese, Fruit and Veggies

Dinners (still working from my 30 Days of Meals you can find the links below)

Turkey Tacos
Fettucini Alfredo, Whole Wheat Rolls, Salad
Sloppy Joes, veggies, fruit, chips
Whole Wheat Pizza
Chicken Noodle Soup w/ Grilled Cheese

Here is my 30 Days of Meals list. The meals that are crossed off are ones we have already made for this 30 day period. I won’t cross off this weeks meals until I actually make them.

We had your sloppy joes for dinner and they were AWESOME! Made SO much, too, that we have a lot for leftovers!

I’m going to start participating in the Menu Plan Mondays, simply because we go shopping Tuesday, and planning is half the battle. Getting it done and out of the way a day early will help :)

1. You may have convinced me to try the month of meals idea. I’m so frustrated with this family of mine and their menu problems … maybe not having to do it every month would help … I don’t know.

2. I am happy to report, however, that Operation Eat All The Cereal is commencing nicely. I managed to have breakfast 4 or 5 days this week, and a handful of the others here joined in. Now … to dig out a new box of shredded wheat … :)

Also, I wanted to let you know that I’ve bookmarked both your salmon turnover recipe and your sloppy joe recipe. The whole household is excited to try them.
