Menu Plan Monday ~ I’m Not Feeling It!

March 29, 2009 · 7 comments

I realize my post title is a bit ridiculous, since I am not cooking anymore, but perhaps that is why I am having trouble planning this week. I am also at the end of my month, which means I need to plan another 30 day menu. My mother offered to put some meals in the freezer, so I am trying to give her ideas for make ahead meals.

I would encourage you, that even if you don’t feel like menu planning you need to do it. Your menu can be super simple, with easy meals such as cereal, grilled cheese, pizza or spaghetti. The point is, without a plan you will definitely over spend, and be lost when it comes to meal time. If you are having one of “those” types of weeks, find simple meals that take minimal time to prepare, it is better than running to the store every night to find something to eat, or eating fast food because you have run out of ideas.

Breakfast

Pancakes, Waffles, Muffins, Smoothies, Fruit

Lunch

30 Days of Meals

I would go insane without my menu planning. I have a 5 week rotating menu that I use over and over and it has made it so much easier to shop and prepare dinner. I’ve been doing it for a few years now (with changes to the menu as needed) and love it.

Great menu! And I agree. Plan even when it really feels like a chore. The weeks I don’t menu plan I am so disorganized in ALL areas.

I’m new to your blog, but wanted to say congrats on the new baby. :) I think large families are so beautiful (I’m the youngest of 8). I also read you like Dave Ramsey! Yes! So do we. :) Not debt free yet, but we will be one day.

Have a great week!
