My children are aware of this blog. Some of them love of the blog and you will see them in many of the pictures. My other kids aren’t as appreciative of my work here. They don’t seem to like photographing every moment of our life, trying new recipes, and often say things like, “Is this going to be on the blog???”
My older two children have blogs of their own. My daughter writes about her life without popcorn, and my son started his blog to write about falconry, but now uses it to show off his home movies.
And even though I try to write about and encourage my readers to eat healthier foods, my children aren’t always fond of our newer way of eating. This became clear to me when I was catching up on my son’s blog last night and came across this video. It seems that over the past few years he has photographed every piece of junk food that has come into our home, and has now made a movie about it!
Ahh, I can only hope that one day he will make movies about kefir smoothies and whole grain bread, but for now I am just happy he is learning some computer skills!
How about you? Have made changes in your lifestyle over the past few years? Are your kids willing participants or do they long for the ways of old? I think my kids are much happier with the frugal changes we have made, but are less than thrilled with the banning of Little Debbies in our home.

My kids betray me all the time. They are always telling people they would rather be in school! LOL They do like being homeschooled, but Kela says she can’t admit it, that would be WEIRD!
Ok… haha
And also, my whole family (dh included) betrayed me at the grocery store the other day when they brought home 6 boxes of Kraft Mac and Cheese!!! I couldn’t believe it, I despise the boxed stuff. Ick. haha

Your kids blogs are awesome, your daughters much more then I would have thought and your son’s pretty much what I thought a boy that age would do… my cousin used to have a similar site/blog back in the day…

My children are the same way. They love junk food but they have grown to like healthier things thankfully.

One habit that we are trying to break is grabbing fast food or junk when we are out and about as a family. Even when we feed the kids first they start to say they are hungry etc. when we are out, even when I know they aren’t hungry. They just want the “fun” meal. I try to bring homemade mini muffins or something it helps a little but they have caught on and we are back to the whining while we are out. I guess we created this monster right? Now we gotta just make them forget it is a option!

that is just plain hysterical. I can see that in my future with 4 boys.

Yes, we have been eating healthy for several years. Most things we make are from scratch. No store bought anything except for canned tomatoes, some canned fruit, and frozen veggies. This is mainly due to 1. son is allergic to perservataives and lots of other things and 2. cost.

Hilarious. Out of the mouth of babes, sort of.

I enjoyed your kids blogs! Thanks for sharing. There is a picture of your daughter that looks just like you! That is when you know they are growing up

That’s funny! My husband often says things to me and then follows up with, “Don’t you dare put that on your blog!” I love fruits and vegetables, but unfortunately my husband is very resistant to my healthy meals.

Oh to funny~
Our kids always tell what we don’t want them to!
I think just to keep us humble.
Happy Moving!

That one’s got a future, he does. Very entertaining. My 13yo son always asks with exasperation, “Is that organic?” Even though I cut way back on organic months ago for our budget. Thing is, I’m the one with a stash of Hostess Ding-Dongs:) *shhh*
Hopefully I’ll get my I2P post up tomorrow!

Teenagers arn’t they great? I just can imagine what my kids say about me and our food…and yes we are all bad at junk once in a while our are hotdogs and mac and cheese…my hubby’s favorite…and we always seem to have that planned when one of my daughters freind comes to stay over night…she probably thinks that is all i know how to cook…

Oh how funny. My 2 year old is refusing to eat what I’m making him… so I guess he’ll just be hungry until he gives in. I’m done making him something different… and he is getting unhealthy eating the way he has been. Thank God I have no fight with my oldest and the baby

1. Holy cow your daughter looks like you! Beautiful!
2. I have to say that something has to be said about your son’s thoughts on junk food. He thinks weight watchers cake, homemade bread, homemade muffins, homemade waffles with fruit are junk food. In some households that is too healthy to be allowed in. My 2 year old has the same thought, he thinks yogurt is dessert.

The video is hysterical. He did a good job.
