How to Homeschool on the Cheap

August 10, 2009 · 3 comments

If you homeschool or are considering homeschooling, tune it tonight (Monday, August 10th) to Frugal Coast 2 Coast radio show. I will be talking about inexpensive ways to homeschool your kids.

If you are not familiar with Frugal Coast 2 Coast it is hosted by Lynnae of Being Frugal and Jenn of Frugal Upstate. I had the pleasure of meeting both these women at BlogHer09. This will be Lynnae’s first year of homeschooling so I hope to be able to share some tips I have learned from my many homeschooling friends who paved the way for me.

The show starts at 8:30pm EST. Click over to the Blog Talk Radio website to find out how you can listen in.

Happy, I wanted to share with you an article I read in Military Spouse Magazine.
http://www.milspouse.com/article.aspx?id=12632&terms=homeschooling
I was greatly dissappointed with this article and will be up late writing a letter to the editor. What do you think, am I being too senstive or did they unfairly protray homeschoolers. The very last part of the article got under my skin quite abit also. Let me know what you think!!!!!

Just found out about your site from Jenn Fowler. Good information and entertaining stories even for someone who isn’t a homeschooler or a military spouse – just someone who is able to stay home with her kids and wants to keep the costs down.

P.S. I read the homeschooler article too – sounds a bit judgemental to me as well! MIddle Daughter is going to college this fall and will be staying in a triple room with two homeschooled kids. They each told her via Facebook that “they weren’t the weird kind of homeschoolers!” It was funny that they thought they had to justify themselves!
