Has he read My Side of the Mountain the the other books in that series? Those might be more on his level. There is also another series of books called Julie of the Wolves that he might enjoy as well. Yesterday at a library sale I bought 31 Thornton Burgess books for 50 cents each! I'm hoping my kids will take to them (my dh remembers them as a kid) - or they'll be heading to eBay!
