In January, I started The Bible in 90 Days. I finished in late March and loved the experience. Although I was overwhelmed a few times, it was definitely worth it and I glad I stuck through to the end! For those of you who missed it the first time around there is another Bible in 90 Days group starting on July 5th.
Blogging through the Bible in 90 Days with MomsToolbox.com begins July 5. Participants will read every word of the Bible, check in weekly on MomsToolbox.com and be encouraged in their journey into God’s Word. You can learn more about the Bible in 90 Days on Mom’s Toolbox and sign up on the site.
My sister-in-law Amy leads the Bible in 90 Days discussions on her Moms Toolbox blog. She read the Bible in 90 Days several years ago and is committed to helping others do the same. I never quite understood her zeal for the 90 Day program until I did it myself. It is truly a unique way to read through the bible and I am thankful I was able to participate in the January group.
If you are considering reading through the Bible in 90 days I would encourage you to participate in the online group. I found that it held me accountable and motivated me when I got a little behind. Amy is a wonderful mentor and I know you will be blessed if you are able to participate.

I prefer the Bible in a Year plan rather than reading it so quickly. I heard of this method a few months ago. Do you really like it? Do you reread it again throughout the year? or just one time during the 90 days?
I’m giving a couple of my kids an opportunity to quickly read through the Bible by following the 90 plan over the summer. Of course, they will have incentive to do it – they are 9 and 7! (My seven-year-old would have without incentive!) I know-I know…it’s heavy reading, but after reading “Do Hard Things” by the Harris twins myself, their encouragment to do just that has spurged this on!
We teach so much about what the Bible says but I feel like there is no ownership for themselves. At this point, we try it. And we’ll continue to try it year after year. It may not be completely successful, but to me, it’s completely worth trying!
The older I get, the more I want to slow down and savor each chapter. For many years I read through the Bible in a year but now I read a chapter a day alternating chapters in the Old Testament, Psalms & Proverbs, and the New Testament. Each day I pick out one verse from that days chapter to think on during the day. It has certainly given me an deeper understanding of the connectedness of the Old and New Testaments. Anyway, best wishes with your 90 plan.
