Can I just admit that I really dislike going to the dentist? I’ve never had a bad experience or even had many cavities, but I just dislike going.
When Arm & Hammer asked me to try the SpinBrush ProClean I was pretty excited. Anything that keeps the dentist from spending too much time in my mouth is automatically a winner in my book!
The SpinBrush has two brush heads; one moves in a circular pattern and the other goes back and forth in a line. The toothbrush comes in an assortment of colors, so if you share a bathroom you won’t brush your teeth with the wrong one. The head and batteries are replaceable and the unit appears water-tight.
I was impressed with the quality and value afforded by this unit. It worked so much better than a manual toothbrush and seemed to work as well as systems costing 10-15 times more. I can’t see a down side to using this brush. The unit is inexpensive (less than $9 for the most expensive one I could find on the internet) and both the heads and batteries are replaceable. If you are looking for a “just came from the dentist” clean and don’t want to pay $100 dollars or more, then this toothbrush is for you.

I’m with you Toni…I don’t like the dentist and there’s not really a reason why! I only go once a year and they always try to get me to come more often. But since I am blessed with good teeth, I always say “no thanks.”
I like electric toothbrushes. The cheap ones work great too.
One thing about those electric ones though. Be sure to hold it gently. My dental hygienist says that some people keep the scrubbing motion going WHILE the toothbrush is also scrubbing which can really damage your gums. I still love my manual toothbrushes and floss every day or every other day. Works great for me!
Even though I don’t mind going to the dentist (my 4-year old actually enjoys it), I agree that any toothbrush that can keep the dentist in my mouth for as little time as possible is a winner in my book. I’ve used the Spin Brush before and I thought it worked great. I’ve been using a manual brush for a while now because I’ve been waiting for a good coupon to come along so I could buy a new Spin Brush (thanks for that link btw!). When my husband’s Sonicare toothbrush died I told him that the Spin Brush worked well for me, he tried it and said it works just as well as his Sonicare did (and it’s a whole lot cheaper). Even my son uses a similar toothbrush (it’s not a Spin Brush brand, he *had to have* the one with Spiderman on it this time) and he prefers the rotating heads because it doesn’t hurt his teeth and gums like a manual brush (he pushes too hard to get them clean with a manual brush).
Anyway, long comment finished, I just wanted to tell you thanks for the awesome coupon (makes it almost half-off!) and I love this product.
No problem! I was thrilled when they gave me the coupon to share!
I had some bad experiences with dentists growing up and despise going to the dentist even when they’re really nice…I’m trying to never let my children see how much I don’t like the dentist b/c I don’t want to pass it on and know that dentists really aren’t out to get me. It seems silly…
Not to be a “party pooper” but we didn’t have a good experience with our Arm & Hammer SpinBrush spinning toothbrush. We had the children’s version for my 4-year-old (he loved that it was Thomas the Train) and it was very cute, but the spinner part often caught his lips, tongue and even one time, his cheek and pinched the heck out of him. Twice it drew blood, and after that second time, we threw it away. We ended up getting the newer SpinBrush (also by Arm & Hammer) with a micro-pulsing head instead of a spinning one. It works more like a sonic toothbrush. It glows for 2 minutes, so kids know how long to brush, and changes color so they know when to change from top to bottom, side to side. My son really likes it, and even though it doesn’t have Thomas or another fun character on it, it’s still super cool since it glows and changes colors. We won’t go back to the spinning kind either way, that’s for sure.
