Making Your Home a Haven

After I took all the before pictures I realized they needed a separate post! Here are some areas I need to work on today and tomorrow.

As I uploaded all of these pictures, the jobs seemed overwhelming, but I know if I take it one step at a time it will all get done eventually. Sitting around and thinking about the work I have to do accomplishes nothing!

Imagine my surprise as I’m looking through your photos to see a chair that looks exactly like one I got from my grandmother after she passed away! It’s the wooden armed chair near the piano and from what I can see it looks just like mine. I have fond memories of it in my grandmothers house and I just love that chair. I’ve got plans to recover it…maybe one day I’ll actually do it.

Good luck with the sorting. Once you get going I bet it won’t take long at all! :o )

    Toni,

Thanks for being real with your readers. It’s nice to know that we’re not alone in trying to keep things organized but not always succeeding. I can totally relate to getting overwhelmed at times, and I will be praying for you! What a blessing to have so many helpers in your home :D

    Warmly,
    Elizabeth

One room at a time and just remember that it looks worse before it looks better. I have two tricks that you can use…put the stuff for Goodwill in the car RIGHT NOW so that you have it when you are out and about. Put the stuff to return in a bag with the receipt and it put it in the car RIGHT NOW for the same reason. We all know that SAHMs aren’t home as much as they’d like, so these can be handled before you know it. There, two things off your list, lickety split! I love your posts!

I love that you posted those. Several posts ago I took pictures of my “junk” drawer and blogged about it (I know, how boring is that?). So I was preparing to take “before” pictures of my messy pantry, for a before and after post I’ll be doing, and my hubby said “Do you all just take pictures of your messes and share them with one another?” Like, yeah, messiness loves company!
