I thought about writing a post about how much I love Cracker Barrel and how it always conjures up memories of road trips, shopping in the store while waiting for a table, and sitting on the front porch in one of those rocking chairs. Wait…. did I say rocking chair?

I have fond memories of always stopping at Cracker Barrel with my family on our annual Smoky Mountain hiking trip up Mt. LeConte. We always stop to fill up on a good breakfast before our long hike! So delicious!

I would love to win the Rocking Chair giveaway. My family and I love to eat at Cracker Barrel restaurants. I remember one trip where we took our three sons, 2 daughter in laws, and granddaughter to Six Flags. As soon as we got to the hotel, we started looking for the closest Cracker Barrel. After a wonderful day of rides and fun at Six Flags, we went to eat at Cracker Barrel. It was so much fun sitting around the table, eating , talking, and laughing. The food was great and the atmosphere and decor are wonderful. Afterward we always check out the store in the front. Love the candies from our childhood. Then we sat out on the porch at dusk overlooking the lights of Dallas. We sat in the rocking chairs (love them), under the ceiling fans (It was summer in Texas!) while we played checkers with each other, laughing and teasing. It made for a wonderful family memory.

Cracker Barrel’s porch with those chairs is the greatest place to sit with family when we get together from various places for holiday meals. I have fond memories of their broad porch and watching my little girl show off her new walking skills to distant family (and charming strangers) during the Christmas season.

How funny to see this today. We just drove home to San Diego from Tucson this past weekend. When we passed Cracker Barrel I really wanted to stop. I told my husband how much I love their rocking chairs and we talked about how we used to stop on the way to Texas, and our youngest son would sit on a rocker and chatter away, happy as a clam. I was just at Cracker Barrel on Thanksgiving Day. Every one of the rockers were taken. Maybe I will one of my one that I can sit in all the time!
I have such good memories of sitting on those rockers with my Dad (who just passed May 2011). We would be sitting (him mumbling about how much money his wife was fixing to spend and I just laughing at him complaining) there while my step mom would shop in the store before breakfast. I am a veteran and my husband is in his 22 year of active duty service, we have 4 kids. Needless to say we travel A Lot! Each of our kids born in a different state! Vacation is not a vacation without going to the Cracker Barrel. I have always wanted on of these chairs.
Always wanted these chairs on my porch. Now we are buying my dream house with a wrap around porch. These would be perfect.

My folks bought one of the children’s rocker’s for my daughter when she was about 3 yrs old. It has survived military moves and the love of a child and its still in great shape! I’ll be able to pass it to my grandkids.

We love Cracker Barrel, but unfortunately there are not any up here in the Northwest. We only get to eat there when we go home on leave. My husband is in the Army and we saw the military rocking chairs this summer when we went back to Ohio. They support/donate to the Wounded Warrior Project!!! Wonderful program.
