Brighter.com: Save Money on Dental Bills & A Giveaway

Being a military family I’m spoiled by inexpensive dental bills. I’m often surprised when my friends tell me how much it cost for them to get their teeth cleaned or have a procedure done on their teeth. When the folks at Brighter contacted me about their services I thought it was definitely something you would be interested in learning more about.

If you are looking for an inexpensive dental plan, Brighter might work for you.

  1. Dentist are the last place that ever want to be but I have learned over the years that if you don’t take care of your teeth by having cleanings and such, it will cost you more and also hurt more. Thanks for the chance to win!

  2. Leilani says:

I’ve delayed going to the dentist for longer than I care to admit because of the cost of dental care…a Brighter.com membership would be fabulous, even though I’m also a bit terrified of what impact the dental care neglect may have already caused. Yikes. The dentist scares me a bit too :/

  3. Bekah says:

I would love a chance to win! My husband is being medically discharged from the Navy (For migraines) in October. We were told it would be $109 to continue dental care. We don’t have the money! Until he finds another job, we won’t have dental benefits. Thank you!! Bekah

  4. Amy says:

I grew up in the military and when I was little we actually saw the Dentists on base. When our Dentist retired it was when the Air Force switched to only active duty dental care on base or dependent emergencies, not sure if it’s still the same way. Anyway, our dentist decided he liked the town so much he stuck around so I got to keep the same dentist. He’s the only dentist that I remember seeing in my life until I went off to graduate school. My son started seeing him when he was 18 months old. Even after we moved away we would drive the 4 hours back just for dentist appointments that’s how much my son loved him. I know people think it’s crazy, but with him being on the Autism spectrum when we find a Dr or Dentist we like we try to stick with them as long as we can because he doesn’t do well with change.

  5. Mandie says:

My little family needs to go the dentist REAL bad!

  6. Autumn says:

This sounds like such a neat program…. thank for sharing. I went to one dentist for the longest time because he was so good, his staff was wonderful and he did not cost a ton. I moved out of state and I cannot find one I like or does not charge a ton for the basics, I will definitely check it out! Thanks again!

  7. Chrissy says:

I need dental work done BAD!!!!

  8. Linda Brown says:

I love this idea !!! I have lived in several different cities as well as travel extensively. This idea would make it so much easier when I am in a new location and have a sudden dental issue rather than either looking through the internet or asking local residents for their suggestions. Also, I have a heart condition and have to be very careful which dentist I choose due to the possibility of inappropriate dental work being performed.

  9. Kimberly says:

I haven’t been to the dentist in probably a good 7 years since I got off my parents insurance. We can’t afford for me to have dental coverage, so I just never go. I’m also afraid of them, but I would like to keep my teeth, so I figure I should go sooner rather than later.

  10. dgsandbjsmom says:

My husband broke a tooth a couple of weeks ago. $420 later it was fixed.

  11. Sarah says:

Hello root canal is right! this post couldn’t have come at a more perfect time.
just went to the dentist or the first time in about 3 years…turns out I need TWO root canals and have no idea how I’ll pay for it..

  12. Deanna says:

Dentists stink. Well actually no they don’t, I just hate going to them. I like the “concept” of the dentist, just not the pain or uncomfortable feeling being there.

  13. Dedra says:

I would love to win this! My husband is a Minister and we have never had dental insurance. I find we put off going for ourselves, so we can make sure the money is there for the kids to go. Thanks for opportunity.

  14. Millicent says:

I would LOVE to win this! We were spoiled to the military for years and now that we are in the “real world” it stinks and we put off going due to cost at times.

  15. Dot W says:

It’s been awhile since our family could afford the dentist. This would be fantastic.

  16. Kelly M says:

Kids now starting to go to the dentist and I can see it killing us in the future. This would be awesome!!!

  17. sunnie says:

Thanks for the giveaway, we have no dental insurance. So I havent been in a long time.

  18. Kristine says:

It makes me ill at the amount of money after “insurance” I have to pay for keeping my families teeth healthy. I would love to win this. I can help so many others witht he money I would save.

  19. Jen says:

My husband was wounded overseas and medically retired and so far we’ve found that paying over three times as much per month than when he was active duty is just not in the budget right now. I have needed a crown since last fall and just didn’t have the extra money to get it done and under the military plan for retirees I would have to wait a year before being eligible. I had no idea a dental service plan like this even existed!

  20. Katie Lewis says:

My hubby just did a medical discharge from the military and we are SO missing our dental insurance for the 5 kiddos. We can purchase the retiree dental but it is so expensive on 60% of his base pay :( so it’s one of the things we let go and we are trying to keep an envelope for it and negotiate costs when we need them…would love this! Thanks for the chance! :)

  21. Kelly O says:

This would really be a god-send for us. I went in and had some preliminary x-rays done, and it’s going to cost several thousand dollars just to get my teeth fixed. Not counting my husband’s work.

Either way, this is definitely worth looking into. (I have a severe dentist phobia and am trying to overcome that so I can set a good example for my daughter. This parenting thing will definitely change your perspective on things.)

  22. Cynthia says:

My husband and I haven’t had dental insurance in two years but he just got a job that covers us now. We definitely could use a reliable and recommended dentist!

  23. Mary Jo says:

My hubs is self-employed, so we lost the dental insurance we had through my employer when I stopped working when our daughter was born. While we have found a health plan to replace the one we had back then, we have not pursued dental insurance even though we could both use a trip to the dentist.

I think I’m one of the few people who really genuinely doesn’t mind going to the dentist at all. :)

  24. Carie says:

What a great idea. I’ve used zander to find cheaper health care but haven’t really had to think about dental plans, i’m covered through my work but my kids are just getting big enough that they need to start going to the dentist. I’m definitely going to check this out.

  25. Tanesha Eley says:

I really enjoy the dentist, I just havn’t been in a while due to finances.

  26. Sherri says:

Well, it’s the usual sad story… I dislike going to the dentist and my relatively infrequent visits end up being very pricey. I’m trying to reform!

  27. Elizabeth Bubel says:

I really need to get my teeth fixed im too young for my teeth to be so messed up

  28. Suzanne says:

Oh my goodness is this timely. Our insurance is changing, and I’m not sure how great it will really be. I’ve been putting off some visits because of the costs involved. THank-you so much for this post!!

  29. meagain2 says:

do you think this could also help take some of the fear away about going to the dentist? lol

  30. Hi! I’m visiting tonight after finding you on smockity’s blogroll (I’m rocking and nursing my feverish baby and was looking for a good read). This is such a neat service! My hubs and I haven’t been to the dentist in years, and my two oldest kids (5&3) really need to go for the first time! Your blog looks great – I’ll have to remember to visit again.

  31. Christie P says:

I love getting my teeth cleaned, but it’s been several years since I’ve been to the dentist because we have no dental insurance.

Thanks for letting me know about this company!

  32. Amy Eggers says:

Dental care is so expensive and in being a responsible parent my children see the dentist every six months for regular maintenance. This alone gets very expensive so my husband and I seem to put off those visits even though we know we should go. A program like this could help lower the cost the dental expenses and possibly allow the entire family to see the dentist. Thanks for the chance to win…. I find tons of great tips on your blog! Thanks a million for all the time you dedicate to it.
