Next week I will be participating in the Christmas Tour of Homes, bloggy style. I am pretty excited because I am never invited to participate in the OWC (Officer Wive’s Club) tour. Perhaps they find Playmobil and Little People decorations a little less than impressive? Anyway, I read on Twitter today that you could share pictures of your Christmas tree so I decided to give you a preview of our tree. Yes it is a little lopsided (better than sideways I guess) and yes my kids color pictures and hang them on a tree. I gave up long ago on the perfectly coordinated ribbon and light adorned tree. Plus homemade ornaments are really frugal.
We chopped it down Thanksgiving weekend in West Virginia and then hauled it all the way back to Maryland on the roof of the suburban. I think it held up pretty well.
I love having a real tree and smelling that fresh cut smell during Christmas. This tree is a frasier fur and has dropped only a handful of needles. It also holds ornaments pretty well, especially when the four-year old hangs seven ornaments per branch. We don’t put presents under the tree until Christmas (those silly toddlers) so the kids are always surprised to wake up to a bunch of gifts of Christmas morning.
If you want to see more Christmas trees check out this site and this one.
Stop by Sprittibee’s site to participate in the 12 Days of Christmas, 12 days, 12 photos. This should be fun!

Great job! I love ‘chopping’ down a Christmas tree..hasn’t happened since we moved back to Texas and I miss it!
Your tree is beautiful, and I’ll bet your house smells delightful. Thanks for sharing. Here’s mine.

Your tree is lovely. The home and family make it special!
It’ very pretty. We still have a “children’s” tree, and our children are 15 and 20! I also love the smell of a real tree.
HA! I was an “officer’s wife” for 8 years and never got asked to participate in those things either. Are you still a military family? Love your blog design. Did you do it or hire someone?
Your tree is wonderful! Fresh trees are delightful, but we bought an artificial tree several years ago to save the money we’d spend yearly on a tree. It is fun having the children decorate the tree.
Love, Hope
It is lovely, but I would be in the hospital on steroids if it were in my house. LOL
We are a fake tree family out of necessity.
