My hubby and I both work full-time, and we have always split duties around the house and with rearing our child. I hope I don't get any flames for this, because I know a lot of people do not have this type of marriage, but it always rankles me when someone talks about their husband "watching the kids" for them. It's called PARENTING. Dads don't babysit. If more dads were like your husband, kids in this country would not be in the mess they are in. I believe a lot of problems kids have (and, incidentally, a lot of the issues they will have as adults in their relationship with God) are because men do not model Godly fathership to their kids. They will surely cherish this one-on-six (lol) time with their dad and remember it as they grow older. Marriage is a partnership, and you have a committed partner in your efforts. My kids aren't very happy with me because we started school a week after they finished their public school. We couldn't start homeschooling until the adoption went through.
