Instead of purchasing new cosmetic applicators wash your old ones to save money. Just wash them in warm water with anti-bacterial hand soap, let them air dry and then reuse. It is very easy to get an infection from old brushes so keep them clean and you can continue to reuse them.
This might not save you a lot of money, but a little money saved over time adds up!

I’ve heard to use baby shampoo on natural bristle brushes, less harsh than hand soap.
I do not wear makeup that often: one because I have to buy Clinique and it is expensive and two because I am a stay at home Mom there is rarely a reason to. So the other day I was at the Dollar General Store they had makeup applicators for $1 a piece. They have worked well so far and I have new ones for the first time in 10 years!
This really is a great tip! You can also wash your brushes with shampoo or conditioner. It helps keep them soft.
I don’t use the sponge applicators, only brushes. Baby shampoo works great to clean them!!
