Frugal Eyes

I came across this blog post about Zenni Optical today. Apparently this blogger bought two pair of prescription glass from Zenni for under $40. This is the real deal so check it out.

This is a great way to save money on glasses, stock up on some extra pairs, or treat yourself to a pair of
glasses you might not normally purchase.

I really cannot say thank you enough for posting this link! I have recently noticed how bad my vision has gotten. I’ve never had it tested. = However, my employer doesn’t offer vision insurance and my husband only works part time as he’s in school. It’s been a HUGE stressor as we try to figure out how to put me glasses. Thank you SO much for posting this!

Are the glasses in your picture the kind we can expect from Zenni Optical? :-) I really liked that one minute blog. How clever!

Cute pic! And thanks for the tip on the dryer sheet. I usually put water in and “cook” on the stove.

We found Zenni a few months ago and have ordered from them four times. Our last order was only last week so they haven’t come in yet, but the last three orders were great! I have pix on my blog for some of the glasses we bought for my kids (2 pairs, total $41 including shipping).

My husband is also wearing his Zenni glasses in the picture in my blog header.

My only advice is to order from Zenni with a credit card so you’re protected if the glasses don’t show up. We’ve never had a problem, but I know there are some others who have.

To save money on glasses my husband buys inexpensive sun glasses or buys frames at a local thrift store. He then takes the frames and has his prescription lens put in the frames. He spent $1.21 on Ralph Lauren frames at a local thrift store just the other day… very up-to-date and very inexpensive. Sometimes at garage sales the people having the sales will just give him old glasses. He has quite an array of sunglasses and regular glasses.

  6. Cynthia: How much do they charge him to make lenses for his thrift store frames?
