High Interest Checking Account from Pendleton Community Bank My checking account is actually doing better than my mutual funds right now, isn’t that crazy? This is a local bank in the Shenandoah Valley area of Virginia and West Virginia. You have to sign up for the account in person, but after that you can handle everything else online. The best part about this account is that there are no fees, and you can open an account for as little as $50. If you go to the website you will find a link to their rewards checking halfway down the left sidebar.
Have you heard of Swagbucks? This was new to me until I read about it on Mommy Snacks, who is about the most adorable person I have ever met. Anyway, it is a pretty simple concept. Basically you search Swagbucks in the same way you search google or yahoo, except you earn digital dollars when you search. Those dollars can then be redeemed at the Swagbuck store. I was a bit skeptical at first, but after spending some time on the site last night, it seems worth a try.
