A friend of mind sent this link to me. It looks like a great free site for homeschoolers as well as teachers. There is a list of writing prompts themed for the month of September. Here is the prompt for tomorrow, September 19, 2008.
September 19
On this date in 1819, poet wrote a poem entitled “To Autumn.” In just a few days, autumn will begin. Write a poem that describes the change in seasons.
These prompts are original and can be adapted for many ages. You could also use these are discussion starters for your pre-writers.
I can only assume that there will be a list of prompts for October, November, and so on.
