I feel silly asking, but what do you use this for?
I don’t know either. Is it for cooking or something else?
Yes! It is a wonderful oil to cook with. Much healthier than olive oil, veg oil or others. It is also great for your hair. My daughter uses it as a conditioner, from time to time.
It’s used for cooking and also to put on baby’s bottoms with cloth diapers. It’s said to be great for diaper rashes and cd safe
Don’t feel bad, I had to Google it to find out. Heathier oil used in frying foods, good for your skin as a mosturizer and wrinkle preventer also use as a scalp conditioner before you shampoo. Learned alot @ Organicfacts.net. Hope this helps, I for one am thinking about trying it.

We use it for diaper rashes in our cloth diapers. but that is a LOT of coconut oil!
Danielle and Nancy, this can be used in place of butter and other oils! It is great to fry in and has tons of health benefits! Coconut oil has been a great product and we love it in our family!
Is this the kind that tastes “coconutty” or one with no taste?

I use this particular brand and am familiar with it. I use instead of butter, add some to oatmeal, melt on veggies, spread on bread, endless uses. Also great for skin, not just baby’s. Ladies, it kills yeast naturally we can all use help with that. Everyone, it helps brain function, plus, a doctor on the internet reported it helped her husband’s alzheimer’s, even though he had late stage (hopeless kind). If you make homemade popcorn, it’s great in that too.
It has a fresh clean scent, bright white color, and yes you can tell it’s cocunut but the flavor is very light – not like coconut milk, not like the bagged coconut in the baking aisle.

I love Nutiva brand CO! I have tried other kinds but this one is good tasting, and not overly coconutty! I use it for all kinds of cooking, but it is awesome to use in roasting pumpkin seeds and to make sugar free low carb chocolate bark.
Coconut oil is great to be used in cakes instead of oil or shortening and for stir frying things. Its generally delicious and much better for your heart.

My husband and I have a tablespoon full every morning in our oatmeal. Hubby was diagnosed 18 months ago with alzheimer’s disease and we heard it is good for the brain. We went off all sugar and white flour soon after the diagnosis. Four months ago we started walking a mile a day–hope to get up to 2 miles by the end of summer. The last time we went to see hubby’s specialist he informed us that hubby is doing so well that the nurse will be able to assess him (in two weeks) and if he has not digressed he will not need another appointment for a year.
Husband and I spent 18 months on a tropical island where the use of coconut oil is a daily thing. We used it there for insect bites, (red ant bites cleared up in an hour) and for our skin. I also used it (and still do) as a deodorant. I also use it when I wake up in the night with charley horses in my legs and feet. And I use it like other seniors use a salve for arthritis. It is wonderful!! It wasn’t until we returned home that we found out the health benefits of taking it internally. We use it for everything–and guess what?? It doesn’t stain at all.
