Melissa & Doug Cutting Food Box for only $10! Free shipping if you have an Amazon Mom
account or Prime.
Melissa and Doug brand toys are my favorite toys for my preschoolers! They are sturdy, last forever, most of their toys can be incorporated into our homeschool program and they make great gifts!
Currently Amazon.com has over almost all of their Melissa and Doug toys on sale. Combine that with free shipping when you spend $25 or more at Amazon
or free shipping with Amazon Mom or Prime (both have free trials) and you could put some great, long lasting, and educational toys under the Christmas tree. I try to watch for Melissa and Doug toys to go on sale because I have been impressed with the quality over the years. I still have a Melissa and Doug toy that my oldest daughter received 15 years ago and it has been played with by every child and is still in excellent condition!
These usually sell out quickly so check it out if you are planning on buying some this Christmas.

I bought my boys a few things for xmas last night…most of what i got was really only 30 or maybe 50% off…b/c it order to get 70% off you had to pay through the nose to shipping b/c it came from a different retailer!
Toni, I’d be very interested if you or your readers could leave comments listing your favorite (or your kids’ favorite or most frequently used or best quality) Melissa & Doug items.
My kids are 3 years, 2 years, and 4 months old. So we are still in the beginning stages and will use quality toys for many years yet! Of course, I have several friends with toddlers as well, so I’m always needing presents for birthday parties too.
Thanks so much!
I actually have a very old post, I think I wrote it two years ago, of my favorite toddler toys. I was planning on updating it this summer. Thanks for the reminder!
Toni
hmm- that isn’t such a good deal. I’m still shopping but I’ll let you know what I find.
Well, I bought things from Amazon that were supposedly marked down a lot. As an example, the caterpillar grasping toy, which had a list price of $19.49 crossed out, was actually $7.99 at the Melissa and Doug website. Luckily I paid a little under $7.99, but still – I’m feeling ripped off and letting Amazon and the sellers know.
Taking advantage of my ignorance!!
I was really excited to see that in my inbox this morning! There were several things I had on my daughters running wish list that I was able to get today. And I shopped around…they were still full price at M & D as well as other toy retailers so it really was a great deal…especially w/ the free shipping!
@Becky – some of my 3yr. old daughters most loved and most played with M & D toys include: (in order of most played with)…
-Talking United States Puzzle (It says for 5 and up HOWEVER…she can put the entire thing together on her own and she knows the names of most of the states by shape/location on the map…all before she even turned 3…Never underestimate the mind of your toddler).
-Wooden Food Groups Set
-Band-in-a-Box
-Beginner Band Set
-Abby & Emma Magnetic Dress-up Dolls
-M & D Learn to Play Piano
My kids love the velcro food. We have the one pictured on Toni’s post here, plus the sandwich kit. I just bought the cookie one for Christmas and it looks awesome. We also have M&D bead kits. Great manipulative for little fingers. Perhaps when your kids are a little older. We had the clock. (Notice “had”.) It turned out to be, for us anyway, a big clunky puzzle that just kept getting dumped.
I’m sorry to be the wet blanket, but last time I bought Melissa & Doug things at 70% off at Amazon, some of them were really not even 10% off… sigh…
Check the prices at M&D before buying!!
Thanks for all the recommendations!
The one we have (so far) is the clock and we love it–teaching numbers, shapes, and telling time–all in one!
It’s a “high chair/table toy” so all the pieces stay in the ziploc, unless they’re seated and supervised.
I’m really excited about the Band in a Box, talking US Puzzle, and Learn to Play the Piano. Sounds great!
Thanks again, everyone!
