This week I ordered my sweet little niece a birthday gift from Amazon. I actually had grand plans of making her a cute little dress, but those fell apart when I was put on bed rest. I actually like shopping online because it is quick and convenient, especially when I know what I want to purchase.
A few months ago my online shopping got even better when Carri at Money Saving Methods introduced me to Swagbucks. If you are not familiar with Swagbucks I would encourage you to check it out. I am a bit of a skeptic when it comes to getting something for free, but Swagbucks really works.
Basically Swagbucks is a way to search the web. They use Google and Ask.com so you can almost always find what you need going through their site. There is a toolbar for your browser so searching doesn’t take any more effort than searching using a different method. But here is the best part, when you search you are periodically awarded “swagbucks” and these swagbucks can be redeemed for prizes, including gift cards to Amazon, Target, iTunes, and Starbucks. There is even a swag store that has prizes for kids.
The gift I just ordered for my niece cost me under $1 because I traded some swagbucks in for Amazon gift cards.
There are other ways to earn swagbucks, such as turning in old cell phones, finding swag codes, referring friends and shopping online.
The people from Swagbucks contacted me and asked if I would pass on a swag code to my readers. This code is only good for new sign ups, so if you sign up for Swagbucks and use this code you will automatically earn 5 swagbucks. The code is HAPPYHOUSEWIFE and is valid until midnight Wednesday PST. You can go to the Swagbucks website and sign up!

Thanks, I’ve heard about this several times but I finally signed up and will give it a try.
Never even heard of Swag bucks! Thanks for the heads up!
I love the idea of Swagbucks, but they rubbed me the wrong way a couple months ago when I their search toolbar was full of glitches and as such took me at least an hour to uncrash everything over here. I still use them, but … I will confess, without a toolbar, I forget about them all the time.
Great news that they sent you a code, though. Congrats.
