Free Garden Seeds

I was reading one of my all time favorite blogs and saw a link to free garden seeds. It is called the seed exchange and it is hosted by the Garden Web. On the message board you can post seeds wanted, or seeds that you want to give away. The only cost is for the envelope and stamp. What a great deal! I spent a little time on the site early today and it looks like a great opportunity for the frugal gardener.

Here is a little garden tip I read yesterday, start your seeds in eggshells. Then when you are ready to plant them in the ground, plant the whole thing, shell and all.

What a great site you featured. I’m an avid gardner and always have extra heirloom seeds. Thanks for letting us know where we can share the extras.

Interesting about the eggshell tip. Usually I use the black plastic liners, but I sometimes end up breaking the plant trying to get it out!

  3. You can have free seeds indefinitely if you learn to save your own. You can find free instructions on how to save your own garden seeds at this non-profit web site:
