My sister just told me about this awesome deal from Staples. From now until July 31st, buy ANY backpack and receive 100% back in a Staples Gift Card after easy rebate. This is a great deal because you can use your gift card to purchase school supplies! Certain laptop bags are also included in this promotion so this deal works for students and professionals alike!
Backpacks start at $49.99 and go up. They offer free shipping on purchases over $50 so add a pack of pens for $2.00 and you are set!
One rebate per household, and you can submit the rebate online.
To sweeten the deal, log into your ebates account (if you don’t have one this would be the time to sign up) and search for “Staples.” Then click through the cash back link and get 2.0% cash back on your purchase. If you are new to ebates they give you a $5 bonus when you make your first purchase.
I know many public schools give a supply list a mile long, so this is one way to save a bit of cash in August.

I’m mad that I forgot about the 15% off coupon. But if you buy in store, all their backpacks are also 25-50% off. I got a great backpack today with a laptop section, regularly priced $79.99 for $39.99. Then I’ll get the $39.99 back on a gift card. Less out of pocket means I can spend that money elsewhere on better school supply deals (and getting rebates from Staples, while easy, often take a month or more to get to your mailbox – so it may be after the kids are back in school).
Is it just me or does $40 seem like a lot for a backpack? – even a good sturdy one that will last several years.
A few years ago I would have agreed with you, but ten years ago I spent around $40 on a backpack for my then six year old. This backpack has been used a lot over the past ten years and it still is in like new condition. I have since purchased this same pack for most of my other kids. Who knows they might even take it to college.
