We’ve had great experiences with Christianbook.com, and Advent is my favorite time of year. I love the emphasis on spiritual preparation for Jesus’ birth.
I do have a funny Advent story. Purple is the traditional color of Advent (except for the third Sunday, which has pink for its color to symbolize rejoicing). I decided to decorate the outside of our Maryland home in Advent colors instead of multi-colored Christmas lights, intending to add the other colors on Dec. 24. I returned from Michael’s, two boxes of purple lights in hand, and my daughter exclaimed, “Great, Mom! Ravens lights!”
(slapping own forehead…)
