When it comes to cooking for your family what would work best for you?
Recipes that are under 30 minutes ~ I mean who has time to cook anymore?
Recipes that are healthy but take a bit more time ~ Leave the processed foods to McDonalds.
Recipes that are cheap ~ The economy stinks, I need to feed my family for less!
Recipes that are easy ~ Boiling water is my specialty.
I want it all ~ I want to feed my family low cost healthy meals and I don’t want to spend all day in the kitchen!
I am planning some fall recipes for the website and I would love your feedback. When you are planning meals for your family what types of recipes are you looking for?

I want it ALL!!
All of the above.
I want it all! I need to incorporate more vegetables into my cooking but I really prefer the recipes don’t keep me in the kitchen for more than a half hour or so.
I would give up quick first. But that’s because I cook everything on the weekend.
I can do more than boil water, but I still go for easy… and healthy. I’m looking forward to your ideas!!!
All of the above!
I need economy and I want easy.
Thanks to your blog I am going into my second week of menu planning, coupon and sale matching and shopping with cash.
It felt so good to shop only with cash last week. I kept thinking, “Oh my I forgot to enter the grocery costs into the checkbook.” What a relief to remember I paid with cash. Thanks for your inspiration in all of this.
All of the above, can’t wait to see what you got up your sleeve!
(but they don’t all have to be easy, I like to learn new things that are not always easy)
I need cheap and healthy!!!! I dont have a short window to prepare, so it can take longer.. and Im okay with more difficult.
I have two great books to recommend, though… “Cheap, Fast, and Good” as well as “More with Less”. Neither of them focus on the healthy part as much as “Cooking with All Things Trader Joes”, though!
All of the above but in order of importance to me:
1. healthy
2. under 30 minutes
3. cheap
4. easy
Looking forward to your recipes!
Healthy above all, then next would be cheap.
Two of my all time favorite cookbooks!
I am also a big fan of crockpot cooking!
All of the above would be so fabulous! Can’t wait to see what you come up with.
Pretty much all of the above. My recipes usually fall under the quick and easy category. I need to work on heathy more than anything else. Not that we don’t eat healthy, but I could use improvements on cutting out processed “stuff”.
I’m looking forward to seeing what you have!
I want it all and am in constant search of it. right now I am looking for ways to make healthy cereal bars so I don’t have to buy the junky ones at the stores, but ones the kids(and hubby) will eat!
I want/need it all!!!
I like cheap and easy, as most of the things I make fall into those categories.
I want it all too. I use the 29 Minutes to Dinner by Pampered Chef those are typically low cost and healthy fast dinners. Love them. Would love more suppestions though. Thanks!
Brandie
Yes to all of the above!! Always looking for new recipes. Personally we are trying to incorporate more fiber into our diet….that still tastes good!
All would be great, but inexpensive and quick are the most important to me. I always feel I can balance out a somewhat “unhealthy” meal with a nice salad and fruit for dessert. Everything in moderation!
Cheap all the way.
healthy is my #1.
All of the above!
All the above…with some crockpot recipes thrown into the mix!
cheap and healthy…crockpot recipes are essential.
I agree with most of the post all 3, but for me for now, cheap has to come first.
I want it all – but I can handle a few expensive ingredients here and there. Sometimes something new is fun!
Fall and winter are by far the easiest time of year for me to go quick, easy, cheap and healthy. Stews, soups, chili! Oh I’m looking forward to the weather change so I can get back to making chili at least once a week.
I agree! I love fall- and fall cooking!
I would love tips on all of it. I have just discovered your blog and I love it!
I agree-all of the above. Cheap is really high on my list right now and I am having a blast learning to make more and more things from scratch. It sometimes takes a little longer but ends up cheaper and most of the time a little healthier. I am learning to meal plan-thanks to you-and have found some great new meals from your links.
I want all of the above;)
I agree recipes that are cheap and easy. It is crazy how much food is going for these days. I am trying to go down on my grocery budget and it seems each month it is going up. Looking forward to your recipes Toni.
I would love to have healthy cheap meals!
I want it all, of course! With the addition of some non-meat meals too.
I’m also a big fan of crockpot recipes.
Above all else, healthy. But cheap would be extremely helpful as well. I’m willing to learn some new tricks and take a bit more time in the kitchen in order to make sure I feed my family healthy meals.
All of the above!!!!
I would love all of the above. But, wouldn’t mind learning some new things, seeing more recipes for the crockpot (particularly for a smaller family of four), recipes that might take a little longer (can make on the weekends).
Thank you!
Cheap, easy, healthy for us! and fast would be great since my daughter is always STARVING when I pick her up! LOL!
All of the above! I am notorious for spending half the day in the kitchen making a “great” dinner only to accidentally forget an ingredient addition or burn it- then end up at McDonald’s anyways.
I want it all! I am most concerned about nutrition these days, so that would be at the top of my list.
Ideally, I want it all too. But, if I have to choose, I’d like to learn how to cook recipes that are healthier and made with less processed food.
I liked the ‘order of importance’ idea, so here goes:
1. healthy
2. cheap
3. quick
4. easy
Can’t wait to see your ideas!
All of the above!
I love coming here & seeing what you’ve cooked up. I’ve been planning my groceries, for the comming months, around some of your recipes.
Can’t wait to see what you have cooking next!
I definitely want all of the above! With a budget of only $200/month for all groceries, 4 children and #5 on the way….I can’t compromise on any of it!
Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!
Oh…one more request….could the recipes be delicious, too? (I know…that might be a stretch! ;-D)
Thanks!
I definitely want easy, as I know how little I will want to do toward the end of pregnancy. I am also working on finding more meals that I can literally open a few cans and add something like rice. (I know, I am demanding). Anyway, I have been researching those sort of pantry meals myself, so I will let you know if i find a great one.
I would love any help you have for my family lol… for us it’s important that it’s easy/fast for me to make, cheap, healthy, and approved by my picky eating family lol…
I want it all!!
For me, cheap is priority right now…. I need new ideas for the standard sale items, especially the meats (for me, those are whole chickens, pork chops, ground beef/turkey, London Broil/roasts, and chicken quarters).
Can’t WAIT!
