    HI Toni,
Any chance you could elaborate a little on the Vita Mix.
My blender died recently and I need a new one. Is this just a really powerful blender? What makes it so great.?
    Thanks in advance.

Great list! Happy TT. If I had to list down my favorite kitchen tools, I guess my list would be almost identical to this one.

  3. Becki says:

Huh. I only have a few of those…maybe this is why I cook so seldom!

  4. Kate says:

Great list Toni! I love your cooling racks. I really need to get some of those. I often run out of cooling racks and have to flip over the top of my broiler pan! Those would definitely be a much better option.

And, by the way, those are the coolest tongs I’ve ever seen.

  5. TheHappyHousewife says:

    Kate-
Yes, I love those tongs- they were a gift from my husband.
    Candace-
I will update on the vita-mix soon, we do love it, and it does everything. We made waffles in it this morning (not cooking them, the mixing part).
It does have a hefty price tag, I think mine was about $400. More to come.

  6. Liz says:

Salad shooter? I had no idea.

  7. Suezque says:

Great list I can agree with all but the grain mill – I don’t have one yet! But its on my wish-list! Come by and visit my NEW WEBSITE!

  8. Somebody's Mimi says:

I have a question? Are wooden spoons and wooded cutting boards healthy? I had heard that bacteria gets in the wood and that we should use some type of nonporus material. AND although I am not the cook you are I do love my old salad shooter!! My kids laughed at me the Christmas I gave them each a salad shooter… but then again I think they were like in their early twenties… They are older and wiser now!
