Have you ever cooked a whole chicken in a crock pot? If not you should. It is really very easy and inexpensive!
I posted a how-to video to help you cook a whole chicken. If you haven’t cooked one before watch this short video to get started!
I’m always amazed at how far you can make a whole chicken stretch. In our menu plan are three meals that use chicken and I can usually make one large chicken stretch for all three! That’s a huge grocery budget savings!

I just discovered cooking a whole chicken in the crock pot a few months ago! I blogged about it too and people went nuts! It is SO easy! We already had a great budget before – but now we are able to eat more chicken and save time and I have cut another $20 out of our grocery budget each month by using a whole chicken twice a month! I often find them on ‘quick sale’ and just pop it in the crock pot that day! I also make baby food and soups with the broth that comes from it – I LOVE cooking whole chickens in the slow cooker – thanks for the fun ideas for menu planning with it!
