Menu Plan: My New Kitchen

I must say that after a month of winging it at meal time I am ready to get back into a routine! My kitchen is all unpacked and ready to be used. I must say it is harder than I thought getting use to a new kitchen, new appliances, and my electric stove! After having a gas stove for most of the last 10 years I am not use to electric. I would show you a picture of my new kitchen, but unfortunately my camera is still MIA. I did find my watch tonight though. :)

My son asked for a “real” breakfast last night before bed. I guess the weeks of cereal for breakfast are finally taking their toll. No worries son, pancakes, waffles, bagels and a new biscuit recipe are on the menu this week!

Glad you are getting settled. Isn’t moving torture. I still am trying to figure out where everything should go after three months and just did a whole bunch more rearranging today. I finally feel like I’m getting there :)

    Happy eating this week!

I can’t believe it has been three months since you moved! It seems like just yesterday! And yes, moving is torture. It seems like the more I do it, the worse it gets! I hoping to stay put for a little longer this time around. :)

BTW- loved your organizing job on your niece’s nursery! I am a cubby addict myself.

I’ve got the same biscuit recipe on my to make list this week as well. I’m really hoping that it goes well!!! Hope you guys had a mishap free move. We are struggling with the claim adjuster currently to get our final settlement for all the mold and mildew damage we had when we moved back to CONUS. What a nightmare it was!!!!! BTW we are painting our home this week,I’ll post pics later, finally got the courage 1) cause its our own home, lol but 2) you did a post on painting and it has made a huge difference so far and we aren’t even done!!!!

    • TheHappyHousewife says:

yes, painting is a great way to transform a room. I painted two rooms in our new house, one because my son didn’t want a pink room ( go figure) and the second room because my daughter hated the color- she said it reminded her of throw-up!
Sorry to hear about your mildew damage, that is terrible! So far so good for us, but I’m not totally unpacked, so I’ll let you know. :)

Oh bother! While I’m very thankful for the nummy recipes you’ve shared, I’m in the middle of a move myself…close on a house on th 19th! I get to pack up the kitchen, laundry room, playroom, & homeschool books tomorrow! YIPPEE! :? The best thing about THIS move is that this is my LAST one!!! After 30 years of moving every 3 years, (Air Force) we’re FINALLY getting our OWN home!!! :)

  4. jessica says:

totally sympathizing on the electric stove. i had 6 months of using one between the time we moved into our house and when we started renovations. i burned everything! it was very humbling!

  5. georgi says:

You have my sympathy on the electric stove. When I moved to Denver I bought a house with an electric stove and I hate it for two years, but I am now finally used to it. . . sometimes lolol

  6. Becky L. says:

When I got married I burned everything because I wasn’t used to gas stove. We had electric stove all the time I was growing up. I told my husband it was all the new cookwear’s fault and I was going to take it back. I’d bought it from the BX. Well, I realized it was me! hahaha! Glad things are finally getting into place at your new home. And will pray you will find your camera soon. I’d be lost without mine. Although the best laid plans of putting something where you can find it in a move isn’t easy! It gets moved in the move. Hugs and have a good day. Will have to try your biscuits.

  7. Miz Helen says:

Your menu looks great. Your waffle looks so good, I wish I had one right now. Thank you for sharing.

  8. Glad you are getting settled in. I hope you find your camera soon. In our last move, I found a box of wedding gifts from almost 15 years ago! I cringed at all the crystal junk in there and felt like I hit the jackpot when I found a brand new French White Corningware set still in the box!

  9. What waffle iron do you have?? All of the ones on Amazon have such mixed reviews, and I figured yours has probably gotten lots of use!

    Thanks Toni!
