Menu Plan

I can’t believe Thanksgiving is next week! I always to try plan an easy cooking week the week before Thanksgiving because I know I’ll be baking and cooking like crazy the next week! I also try to avoid turkey and chicken dishes because I know we will be eating a ton of it over the next two weeks.

I’m breaking my own rule this week because I have a great chicken and broccoli rotini recipe I’ll be sharing with you on Tuesday.

What are your Thanksgiving plans? Will you be baking up a storm at home or will you be heading out of town for the holidays?

Hard to believe that Thanksgiving is so close! Thanks for keeping me on track. I have everything planned for that on the menu, but hadn’t thought about keeping this week easy. I just got through my daughter’s birthday, so I finally feel a breather. I hadn’t thought about keeping poultry off the menu for the next 10 days, so thanks for that heads-up. I think some soups and stews are in the forecast.
I try to keep Thanksgiving simple, since my husband has diabetes and I am trying to control my weight. One dessert, turkey, mashed sweet potatoes, garlic green beans, sweet corn, and fresh bread. Simple, nothing heavy and limited sauces.

It is coming wayyyyyyyy too fast for me too!
I did lots of prep this weekend, though, because we have a bowling tournament all next weekend.

  3. Your breakfast menu looks delicious!

  4. I am having a roast with onions, carrots, and potatoes in the crockpot this week, too. Mmmm…I think I’ll try the Lemon Poppyseed Bread, too. I love anything with that flavor.
