Lately I have also been considering using my big roaster oven (like you use at Thanksgiving) out on the porch. I try to not use the oven on hot days too by using my crockpot and grill. Who cares what the neighbors think....you have kids and you have to eat despite the heat! Sometimes, you need to bake. But a toaster oven generates MUCH less heat than a full size oven. I got one that holds almost all my 9x13 pans (pyrex with handles don't fit).
