For great meals for less you can purchase at your local store visit $5 Dinner’s new feature, Bargain Meal of the Week. Bloggers around the country create a bargain meal based on their local store sales.
If you shop at the commissary you probably know their prices change every two weeks. Not only do sales run on a two week basis, but many of their everyday low prices change as well. Each Monday I will be posting a bargain meal, created from current commissary deals.
The current sale running at the Commissary is Frozen Food Month. Since my 14 yo and husband have taken over the cooking I am looking for quick and easy meals. While I don’t advocate a diet heavy in packaged convenience foods, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do, you know?
Green Giant Pasta, Broccoli and Alfredo Sauce (family sized 24 oz) $1.89
to the pasta you could add chopped
Eckrich Kielbasa Sausage (16 oz) $1.49
or
Bumble Bee Pink Salmon (14.5 oz) $1.89
If you want to get super fancy you could serve Pillsbury Savorings Flaky Pastry Bites. They are on sale for $2.39 but you can print a $1 off coupon here.
Total meal cost $4.77 or $5.17 depending on if you serve salmon or sausage.

So nice that your mom is able to help you out! I remember being on bedrest with both of my babies. Not much fun!

Last Friday I bought two cans of Black Top Skinless, Boneless Pink Salmon. It was the only brand that was boneless. Anyhoo, I paid $1.99. I am going to make your Salmon Turnovers for dinner tonight.
Thank you for the link to the Bargain Meal site. They have Publix on there…Woot!
