Oh, wow. That one is HUGE! Emma has been fascinated with all the Praying Mantis’. We didn’t see a whole lot in Ohio.

Great Praying mantise. My 15 year old loves to collect bugs. We have caputred and raised several of these. its cool to watch them catch their dinner of a fly or cricket.

We joined a 4h club for entomology. Its great fun. Not expensive to join either. And the kids learn a lot. So do the parents.lol. 4h has a finaicial need program I just found out about too!!!

Great pics! My kids would have loved to get one this summer but I was afraid they’d mush it – lol.

Yes, I was. I was actually standing right next to the door when they came in with it. I’m glad Abby didn’t try to put it in her mouth–lol.

We don’t see these too much where we live, but we recently went to see my in-laws. And there was one of these on the tree. My children were fascinated with it. I don’t have the greatest camera in the world so I had to get really close to this thing and it didn’t move!

My oldest son is in love with bugs too. I like most bugs but have to admit that praying mantis do send a shiver up my spine.
