Apologia Live Homeschool Conference Giveaway

February 8, 2010 · 58 comments

I LOVE homeschool conferences. For me they are a time to connect with other homeschoolers, receive encouragement, and learn a lot about myself and homeschooling. On March 12-13, I will be attending the Apologia Live Conference in Baltimore, Maryland. I am so excited about this opportunity as I missed the conference last year.

Speakers include:

  • Rachael Carman – author of SoundBites from Heaven
  • Zan Tyler – author of 7 Tools for Cultivating Your Child’s Potential
  • Debra Bell – author of the best selling Ultimate Guide to Homeschooling
  • Elizabeth Smith – with HSLDA and the Homeschool Foundation

Apologia provided me with the recordings from last year’s conference and I have been listening to Deb Bell, Sally Clarkson, and Zan Tyler speak with passion and conviction on topics like wisdom, God’s word, and joy. After listening to the CD’s I am even more excited to attend the 2010 Apologia Live Conference.

This year’s conference theme is Standing Strong: Renew your vision… Refresh your soul… Rekindle your light… Rebuild… Recharge… Restore… Revitalize. With a high schooler, middle schooler, three elementary aged kiddos, plus a toddler and a baby I am ready for some refreshment! To make this wonderful conference even better, this year I am attending with my dear friend Crystal who you might know from her website Money Saving Mom. I was able to meet her for the first time in real life this weekend and I look forward to hanging out with her again in March.

The wonderful folks from Apologia Live have offered to give one of my readers a conference pass to either the Baltimore conference in March or their Chicago conference in October. I also have five CD’s to give away to my readers from last year’s conference. The titles include:

  • Walking in the Light of God’s Grace – Zan Tyler
  • Walking in the Light of God’s Joy – Sally Clarkson
  • Walking in the Light of God’s Wisdom – Elizabeth Smith
  • Walking in the Light of God’s Word – Zan Tyler
  • Walking in the Light of His Plan Everyday ~ Rachel Carman

To enter the giveaway please leave a comment. I realize not everyone can attend conference in Baltimore or Chicago, so if you would like a chance to win a conference pass please specify that in the comments. Everyone who leaves a comment will be entered to win one of the cd’s.

I hope to see some of you in Baltimore next month!

I would LOVE to win the pass for the Baltimore conference. Close to home and I use Apologia books with all three of the boys.

It’s funny how God reveals things to me at interesting times. I’ve been struggling with what God’s will is for my family – whether I should work out of the home, in the home, stay home, homeschool, etc. So many questions but, as I read your blog (which I just stumbled upon)… I am so inspired!!!! Just wanted to say thank you! I wish I could be a fly on the wall and spend a day in your life – I can’t wrap my arms around how you do it all :) Go you!

Since I’m due with Baby #3 any day now, I don’t think the conference would work for me :( however, I’d love to win one of the CDs, especially Walking in the Light of God’s Joy.

Thanks for all your hard work and this great giveaway!

I would love to win a CD. My daughter is 18 mos. with #2 on the way in May and I am trying to start thinking and learning about homeschooling early so it doesn’t catch up with us. Do you recommend the Ultimate Guide to Homeschooling or do you have any other recommendations on good books to start with for a general overview on how to even begin this process?!?

Hi Emily,

I am in the process of starting to think about homeschooling as well. My kids are 3 1/2 yrs, 2 yrs and 6 mos.

I just finished reading The Ultimate Guide to Homeschooling. I really enjoyed it. It is a lot of information to process, but it covers everything! I highly recommend it.

My other recommendation as you start working through this thought process is to go to your state’s convention. They usually have workshops for newbie homeschoolers and the exhibit hall is a great place to gather information and start looking at curriculums.

I hope that helps!
Thanks,
Liz

It wouldn’t work to attend the conferences……..as a mom of six it would be next to impossible! But please enter me in the drawing for a cd……..

Have been struggling to find balance, etc. lately….and this last week has been especially hard having to say good-bye to my favorite aunt who passed away from an unexpected brain injury.

Thank you!

I love your website/blog. My daughter will begin homeschooling this coming fall. She has a 5 yr. old, 2 1/2 yr old., and a 10 week old, (all boys). She is really excited about homeschooling and will be attending an homeschool conference in Columbus, OH in April with 2 of her friends. I would love to win one of the cds for her. Thanks, Becky

I would love to have a copy of a cd or the opportunity to attend the conference in Chicago. My husband & I have been praying about making major changes in our lives for me to be able to stay at home & teach my 10-year-old dyslexic son next year. I have taught high school math for 17 years and as I see my son dislike school more & more & through many other circumstances that God is showing us, we feel that this is what we need to do. I really enjoy your blog…I found it a few weeks ago & it encourages me a lot!

Thanks, Kim

I wish that I could attend a conference, but with Baby Q due any day now – it’s not going to happen.

I am, however, very interested in the CDs! Homeschooling with a focus on God is always a good thing. :)

Hi! I would LOVE to win the conference trip in Baltimore! I have been homeschooling for 12 years now and am a co-director of a homeschool co-op/academy (where we use Apologia science books)! This sounds like a wonderful opportunity! Thank you for offering such wonderful advice and wisdom to so many!

What an exciting giveaway. I live in Dover DE so this event is not far at all. I am new to your blog but not new to homeschooling. I have a 20 year in college, a 15 year old a 12 year and a four year old and I have been homeschooling for 8 years. I have not been to a convention since we moved from VA to DE 5 years ago and this would be a great time of refreshing for me and my sis.

What an amazing offer from Apologia Live!! I’m definitely interested in going to the conference in Chicago. I’m a new resident to Southwestern Illinois. The military has brought us to a new home here and we are settling in. I’m in my second year of homeschooling. My kids are 6, 4 and 3 years old and I could definitely use some time away to be rejuvenated. Thank for you the opportunity!

I have been trying to “Walk in the light of God’s Plan Everyday” since I have recently decided that all my plans weren’t getting me anywhere, my Family or my Relationship…So, I too would surly benefit from one of these CDs!
