Adding a Recipe to a Post

Title

Your post title should be the name of your recipe.  For example,

Bad Title:  What We Ate for My Husband’s Birthday

Good Title:  Chocolate Cake

Recipe

This site uses the Ziplist Recipe Plugin.  Here is how to use it:

When you get to the part of your post where you want to add the recipe, click on the fork and spoon icon which is at the top of the page next to “Upload/Insert.”

Adding a Recipe to a Post

A box will pop up where you enter your recipe information.  You can type your recipe directly into the box or copy and paste it from somewhere else.

Add the title which should match the title of your post.  Add ingredients and instructions on separate lines.  The instructions should not be in paragraph form.  Break them down into individual lines.

Detailed Ziplist instructions can be found by clicking the green button towards the end of the page which says, “Get Instructions and Styling Tips.”  Note that the button link does not work in Chrome.

Pictures

Pictures should be uploaded and hosted on this site.  See Adding Images to a Post.  The second line in the Ziplist box, underneath “Title,” is “Recipe Image.”  You should add the link to a picture of the finished recipe.  Do not put the image at the top of your post.  It will show up at the top of the recipe.

Adding a Recipe to a Post

If you want to add photos of your step by step process within the instructions, some coding is needed.  Add the photos at the end of your post and indicate which instruction they should go with.  The editor will then add them to the recipe.

Links

You may link back to relevant recipes on your site.  For example, you could say that this recipe goes well served with another recipe which is on your site.

If your recipe includes a recipe you would like to link to, such as a recipe for enchilada sauce as part of your chicken enchiladas recipe,  the editor will need to add that link. Place the link at the end of the post with a note such as “Add link to recipe:  http://www……”
