  1. Sounds like Dave’s 13 :O) … We are putting some on bills, some into the clothing envelope, and some into the school book envelope. Working to get rid of our debt too!!! Have a great Thursday!!!

  2. What they want you to do is spend it on consumer goods and, of course, gasoline. Your plans are better.

  3. We are putting it into our savings account. :o)

  4. Great List~
I will be stocking my pantry that is for sure.
My husband is already going to college. And Thankgoodness that is already paid for. He has two years left.
I also need to buy a new outfit for my sons 5th grade graduation. And we need to rent a car for a few days. I also want to purchase a new grill. Pay double payments on a few credit cards. Hopefully, put some money back for summer use and kids school clothing for next year.

    Happy T13!

  5. Ours is going to our Master–Mastercard that is.

    Good idea.

  6. Those are all great ideas. We’re building a fence and a deck and paying off our car with ours.

  7. I keep hoping for a new rocking chair but… I dont think DH is feelin’ it. We made the house payment for the year + 3 months extra + a little leftover…

  8. We’re using our tax refund to purchase airline tickets to visit DH’s family in Spokane, WA - flying is cheaper than driving this year. Our gov’t rebate check will be applied to orthodontics for our youngest daughter. I’d like to be able to stockpile that $$ in the bank but no such luck.

  9. We are getting our car fixed. That will take a HUGE chunk of the money. After that, I am not sure. I would like to save a little, splurge and get a new camcorder and getting some curriculum.

  10. We don’t have kids. I have no debts, not even a house payment. We work the money on our end and don’t get a refund. We like making our own interest, not letting the government borrow from us with no interest.

Do you mean the little check the gov is sending to everyone? That $600 dollar per person check? The way things are going, I’m inclined to put an “x” in the “stock your pantry” and “donate to charity” boxes.

Thanks for stimulating my brain. I really had no idea what people were thinking.

  11. My kids are wearing it…braces. Ugh.

    My TT is up, too.

  12. Gas for my car. How else am I supposed to be able to afford it??

  13. Great list of ideas! An online retail payment provider, eBillme, is running a contest and looking for confessions from people on how they will be using their tax rebates. The company will be giving out $1,000 and $500 to the best video or written tax rebate confession. You can check out the contest site for details - http://www.shopandconfess.com

  14. Paying off Capital One. Buy two windows for the house. Part of a class for DaHubby.

  15. We’re taking a trip to Alaska so I’m hoping that will be our fuel money home lol.

  16. Hi :) I found you via a Simple Walk. I have enjoyed reading your blog. I am from the DC area. :)
We are actually doing a few of your suggestions. The majority of the rebate will be going to our dentist. That seems to be a common theme. The rest will go to getting clothing for the family, stocking our pantry and savings for our trip home in August.

  17. Hey! This is Patience from Sugar Grove. I had no idea yall were stationed here. We will definitely have to get together soon! As far as the rebate goes we are gonna put it in our savings account.
